Mini Dental Implants

It will probably come as no surprise to you that Dr. Omeltschenko is always researching the latest dental procedures available and bringing them to the office. He was one of the first dentists in the city to attain a CEREC machine, allowing us to offer patients durable ceramic crowns and onlays in one office visit. Well, he’s done it again – he’s brought a new procedure to the office – Mini Dental Implants – that are an economical, comfortable and convenient way to replace missing teeth.

If you have a missing tooth or an ill fitting denture, chances are Dr. Omeltschenko has talked to you about replacing the tooth with an implant or stabilizing the denture with several implants. Mini Dental Implants offer numerous benefits over these traditional implants.

Mini Dental Implants are:

  • Economical – The average range for a traditional implant to replace one missing tooth is around $3,000 (between $1,500 – $2,000 for the implant placed by the specialist and $1,000 for the crown placed on the implant, making the total cost around $3,000.) Mini dental implants cost around $1,500 ($500 for the implant and $1,000 for the crown for a total of $1,500.) Usually half the price of a traditional implant! Mini Dental Implants can also be used to stabilize a loose denture. To stabilize a denture, typically 4 mini dental implants are used at a cost of about $2,000 – compared to a cost of about $8,000 for traditional implants.
  • Convenient – Traditional implants typically take several dental visits to complete and require months of healing time. They also require you to work with a specialist and Dr. Omeltschenko. With a mini dental implant the entire procedure – from placing the implant to snapping on a crown – is completed by Dr. Omeltschenko in one visit in about an hour. They are threaded directly into the bone through your gum tissue and are immediately held fast due to the elastic properties of the bone.
  • Comfortable – The size of mini dental implants make them less invasive than traditional implants. Because of their small size an incision is not necessary to place them.

This translates to a much easier recovery for patients. With mini dental implants patients are able to comfortably complete treatment with a local anesthetic for numbing and then return to normal activities immediately following the procedure.
